Regulating Competition in African Digital Markets

From Form to Substance

Faculty Associate Elettra Bietti, Friso Bostoen, and Alum Jacquelene Mwangi draw two principal lessons the proliferation of pro-competitive regimes in the African region: first, African and EU regimes might find common ground in their interest in limiting the reach of US tech giants and second, regional values might proliferate in African region enforcement mechanisms. In a paper for the German Law Journal, the authors maintain that "African countries are pushing their technological vision forward."
