He is currently the Director of Partnerships at the EAAMO research initiative (www.eaamo.org), a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and a Research Fellow at Input Output Global (www.iog.io). Prior to this, Francisco was a Career Development Fellow in Computer Science at Balliol College at the University of Oxford. He holds a D.Phil. in Computer Science from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. in Mathematics from Harvard University.

Francisco is a dedicated researcher specializing in applied modeling, algorithms, and AI, striving to enhance resource accessibility for underserved communities. His work focuses on addressing critical challenges in public health and improving access to financial services with blockchain technology. Beyond methodological advances, Francisco is committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaborations between academics, practitioners, decision-makers, and local stakeholders.

As a fellow at BKC, Francisco's primary goal is to further research into, and develop practical AI tools aimed at addressing the needs of Mexico's indigenous populations. He plans to achieve this by enhancing the scope of the EAAMO Summer of Science program that he launched in collaboration with multiple Mexican State Research Councils in 2022. This program supports female students from indigenous communities in Mexico as they design and execute research projects aimed at improving their local communities.
