"The more we shame each other, the less productive our conversations become," offers metaLAB's Director of Art and Education Sarah Newman. At conferences and other events, Newman's begun setting out a wooden box inviting passersby to (anonymously) share the ways they're integrating AI into their lives. Newman was spurred by the "uncertainty and angst" surrounding the technology, and aims to promote discussion about our shared 'rules for use.'
BKC Faculty Associate Leah Plunkett weighs in, too, on what young people have to say: "In her work with K-12 schools, she’s noticed that kids are on high alert for signs that adults in their lives have used AI when they themselves have been forbidden it."
