Affiliates Sanders and Schneier share in Senator Sanders' goals of establishing democratic control over AI companies and returning the rewards of AI valuations to the public. They disagree, though, with the Senator's proposed solution of creating a US sovereign wealth fund by taking 50% stock in AI companies. Their proposal, outlined in The Guardian, consists of an AI Public Option: "for governments, be it federal or state, to establish publicly developed and operated AI models run by public institutions under democratic control."
