At the beginning of February, Berkman Cyberlaw Clinic Director Phil Malone reported that the Electronic Frontier Foundation had formally challenged a bogus online gaming patent -- with extensive research assistance from Berkman clinical students.
Last Thursday, the EFF won reexamination of the patent in question from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The EFF Patent Busting Project's reexamination request record is now 5 for 5! The Cyberlaw Clinic is continuing to assist EFF with several additional requests for reexamination.
