Yale’s Institution for Social and Policy Studies hosted the fourth International Workshop on Reimagining Democracy (IWORD). Affiliates Bruce Schneier and Nathan Sanders and Faculty Associate Judith Donath were in attendance, and all spoke to the importance of examining the relationship between AI, governance, and politics. “I want us to imagine other possibilities for democracy — possibilities that may be unachievable in the near term,” Schneier said. “Because if we don’t know where we want to go, it’s unlikely that a series of incremental steps will get us there.”
