Do People Like Algorithms? A Research Strategy

Co-director of Artificial Intelligence and Law Project Cass R. Sunstein and Lucia Reisch provide preliminary findings on whether people like algorithms and offer a strategy for further research.

“One lesson is that in the tested groups, at least one-third of people seem to have a clear preference for either a human being or an algorithm – a preference that is unaffected by brief information that seems to favor one or the other.”
