Overcoming the flaws of an internet controlled by a few major players will enable web services that are more democratic and fair, Samer Hassan says.
“If [decentralized autonomous organizations] facilitate new bottom-up, cooperative business models that scale while empowering user communities, they can break the monopolies of centralized platforms and balance the web ecosystem, creating a fairer collaborative economy in the process,” he writes.
