A new paper from Rob Eschmann and colleagues, “Bigger than sports: Identity politics, Colin Kaepernick, and concession making in #BoycottNike,” was published in Computers in Human Behavior.
The paper uses online discussions about Colin Kaepernick’s protest against police violence against Black people as a case study, investigating instances in which users make “concessions,” or demonstrate a willingness to see "other points of view.”
