“We are experiencing the height of the era of commercialized decision-making. So in light of uninformed consumer markets and the deviousness of an internet industry that inherently exploits citizens’ lack of understanding, we will need to artificially create the market for privacy,” he writes. “There is only one way to accomplish this: informed regulation made possible by citizen engagement calling for such governmental intervention.”
