A facial recognition ban is coming to the US, says an AI policy advisor

Mutale Nkonde discussed potential federal restrictions on the use of facial recognition technology at EmTech 2019.

“The marginalization of minority groups by facial recognition is step one [toward a ban],” she said. When it is used to target groups with more power, it will be outlawed, she said.
