While conducting research on YouTube’s impact in Brazil, BKC’s Jonas Kaiser and Yaso Córdova, along with Adrian Rauchfleisch, discovered an alarming phenomenon: the platform's recommendation algorithm drives engagement with content that enables child sexual exploitation.
This discovery, first reported in the New York Times, has led to a great deal of coverage, and a formal response and policy change by YouTube, as well as from politicians.
