Summer Programs
Each summer the Berkman Klein Center swings open the doors of their vibrant building to welcome a group of talented and curious students who are passionate about the promise of emerging technology.
Students play an essential role in the Berkman Klein Center’s work, making meaningful contributions to projects, programs, and independent initiatives under the guidance of Center staff and faculty. Student roles and project topics vary according to Center needs and participants’ skills, but most positions are designed for students. In past years, we have also offered cohort-building activities to foster connections within each group.
We anticipate offering research assistant positions that allow students to dive into impactful projects shaping the future of emerging technology and social media. These summer roles typically run from June to August and are open to students residing in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington state. Please note that some positions may require Boston-area residence.
Each summer, the Center develops programming responsive to new developments in our space, which may include partnerships with other organizations, summer institutes, or fellowships. To see examples of prior offerings, please visit the Past Programs section.
Please check back in early 2026 for future opportunities. Full expectations and timeline will be detailed when positions are posted.
