Talha M. Evran is a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School and an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, where he studies how artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems are reshaping the foundations of private law.
His doctoral research at the University of Bonn, funded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes), explores the intersection of contract law, algorithmic systems, and artificial intelligence. He is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Bonn’s Chair of Civil Law, Data Economy Law, Data Protection Law, Digitalization Law and Artificial Intelligence Law, supervised by Prof. Dr. Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider, who currently serves as Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
Talha completed his First State Examination in Law at the University of Cologne (with distinction) and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the binational double degree program offered by the University of Cologne and Istanbul Altınbaş University, from which he graduated at the top of his class. Alongside his research, Talha serves as Senior Managing Editor of the journal Artificial Intelligence and Law (Künstliche Intelligenz und Recht), published by C.H.Beck, the first German legal journal devoted to the field.
