Plamena Popova’s current research is on the interrelations between moral rights and digital technologies, focusing on digital identities, reputation, online presence and privacy issues.

Plamena received her doctorate in legal studies from Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 2010, being a visiting scholar at Columbia University the same year. She is a lawyer, consulting on a variety of topics, related to digital rights, intellectual property disputes, EU and international law. Plamena is a qualified European Trademark and Design Attorney. She also advises on policy issues regarding access to information, digital freedoms and education. Plamena is a Berkman Klein Faculty Associate and works on a number of research collaborations on digital media’ issues.
