Isabella is the Director of Communications and Engagement for the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, where she focuses on expanding BKC’s reach among practitioners, scholars, and policymakers by promoting the use of the Center’s research, insights, and technological tools. Isabella has 12+ years of experience translating complex, globally impactful research and projects from subject matter experts to wide audiences, for and with some of the world’s most influential institutions, including the Smithsonian and Harvard.
Isabella spent seven years leading communications about scientific and cultural research for the Smithsonian’s Office of Global Affairs, which led to her telling stories and producing videos (and camping) in places as varied as the Mongolian steppe and the mountain forests of Palau. Isabella then promoted social policy and economic development research as the Director of Communications for the Harvard Kennedy School of Government's Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy. Most recently, she led storytelling and thought leadership to define what the future of human-collaborative AI could look like as the Director of Communications for Mobi.AI, an MIT-born AI startup.
Isabella received her B.A. from Harvard College, where she studied History of Art and Architecture, and English Literature. She then received the Harvard Finley Fellowship to write about wildlife conservation efforts around the world. She loves reading, competing in powerlifting, silversmithing, birdwatching, and playing the harp.
