Ana Castillo is a researcher at the School of Communication Sciences at the International University of Catalonia, Spain. She co-leads the Artificial Intelligence and Society Hub (IA-SIC) at the University of Chile. Ana is an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society.
Her work lies at the intersection of technology, media, and social transformations, with a focus on protecting Human Rights and promoting social justice in Latin America.
Over the past decade, she has published and conducted research at various academic institutions. She has contributed in different initiatives regarding media and freedom of expression in Chile, like the report "More amplitude, more voices, more democracy", for the Ministry General Secretariat of Government on January 2023.
She holds a PhD in Communication and Journalism, a Master in Communication and a degree in Journalism and Social Communication.
