Faculty Associate Mark Esposito and coauthors reconceptualize algorithmic governance, outlining principles for implementing well-governed algorithms into government and public sector projects. In a chapter of Navigating AI in Business, the authors posit: "This disruptive technology," i.e., generative mAI, "can automate administrative tasks, generate predictive models, and more—but it can also sow societal discord, perpetuate bias and discrimination, and infringe on citizens’ privacy," and thus argue that AI implementation in the public sector must be guided by transparency and accountability.
