Affiliate Marissa Gerchick (ACLU) and coauthors released a report demonstrating the utility of computational tools to analyze legislative trends. Their report culminated in two recommendations: (1) for researchers and policymakers to standardize legislative text and (2) for "researchers and advocates to incorporate a multilingual perspective when analyzing AI legislation introduced in regions that, due to the history and ongoing reality of United States imperialism, are under US jurisdiction."
