Molnar predicts an authoritarian turn in tech policy, writing that she anticipates further automatization of physical and digital surveillance infrastructure. "2026 may be less about “new” tools—like robo-dogs, iris-scanning orbs and border vigilante apps—and more about existing tools becoming integrated into a continuous data-driven pipeline, from social media and biometrics to automated triage."
