The creator function, post-structuralism, and the perils of terminological dissonance

In a paper for the International Journal of Cultural Studies, David Craig and Tanner Mirrlees present a Foucauldian analysis of the creator, arguing that greater terminological consistency will lead to more logically-consistent regulatory outcomes. "What's at stake in the terminological dysfunction surrounding the “creator” is not merely semantic—it is epistemological, ontological, economic and political, with real-world material and structural consequences for creators themselves."
