Law is vulnerable to AI influence; interface design can help

In a paper for SSRN, Faculty Associate Aileen Nielsen and coauthors Chelse Swoopes and Elena Glassman push against the legal community's "uncritical acceptance of the chat interface for LLM-assisted work," arguing that improved interface design could drastically shape the role that LLMs have on legal practice. They suggest that LLMs can be used in generative reading and drafting processes, optimizing legal practitioners' skills.
