Cooking Eggs in the Morning and Shucking Oysters at Night, Thanks to an App

Facing a labor shortage, restaurants are turning to on-demand services for line cooks, dishwashers and other trained workers.

“These apps are attractive in that they present a quick fix to finding work and finding labor,” said BKC Faculty Associate Ifeoma Ajunwa. “But they’re also dangerous in that they can doom workers who use them to a lifetime of precarious work.”
