But consumers aren’t only worried about wealth inequality from companies fueled by data collection, said BKC’s Salome Viljoen. The monetary solutions being discussed, she noted, don’t solve the issues of democratic and political vulnerability springing from that collection, such as 2016 election interference practices on Facebook Inc.
