More and more websites are adopting HTTPS as a method to secure users privacy and browsing information from prying eyes and surveillance. A new analysis by Internet Monitor shows the number of the most popular and filter-vulnerable websites using HTTPS has increased from 40% to 58% over the last year. But this wider adoption could have uncertain long-term implications for online access to information around the world, according to Casey Tilton.
