Rebecca Weintraub is the Faculty Director of the Global Health Delivery (GHD) Project at Harvard University. She is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, Associate Physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Division of Global Health Equity, and a 2014 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
In 2008, the GHD Project launched GHDonline.org, a network of virtual professional communities that connects global health implementers from over 180 countries and 4,000 organizations. The GHD Project has published over 30 Harvard Business School case studies with Harvard Business Publishing, available free online. Weintraub is also a co-faculty lead for the Global Health Delivery Intensive at Harvard, an executive education program for health providers and implementers.
Additionally, Dr. Weintraub is co-founder of Jumpstart, the national AmeriCorps program, and a technical advisor to Ashoka Living Goods and non profits promoting the work of health entrepreneurs. She holds degrees from Yale University and Stanford Medical School.
As a Berkman Fellow, Dr. Weintraub will research and develop a framework for digital badges as an incentive for health care professionals. The badges will allow individuals, employers and grant making organizations to recognize, reward and leverage non-clinical skills such as epidemiology and biostatistics, finance and accounting, supply chain management. Dr. Weintraub and GHD aim to participate in the “Open Badges Framework” to badge skills in the field of health care delivery and be the platform health care delivery professionals use to track their professional development activities.
