Nicole West Bassoff

Project Coordinator

Nicole West Bassoff is a Project Coordinator at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. She supports projects across the Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence Initiative.

Prior to joining, Nicole has worked on the product team at a healthcare analytics startup and as a historian for the Lancet NDCI Poverty Commission. She received her MPhil in History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine on a Wellcome Trust Scholarship at University of Cambridge, where her work focused on how publicly-funded genomics projects have framed public benefit in the twenty-first century. Her research interests continue to center on the implications of government-sponsored technological innovation for publics, governance, and democracy.

Outside of work, you can find Nicole playing tennis, forcibly snuggling her cat Stanley, and attempting to find the answers to existential questions in reality tv. She holds an A.B. in History and Science from Harvard University.
