Mayte Schomburg is initiator and chair of Publixphere e.V., a non-profit fostering cross-partisan political debate and youth engagement in Germany. Previously to being a Berkman fellow 2014-15, she coordinated the Global Network of Internet & Society Research Centers (NoC). Mayte holds a doctorate in international relations from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, where she previously studied. She's passionate about Europe, democracy, digital culture and civic engagement - and how all of that intersects with identity politics.
