Johanna Wild is an open source researcher at the intersection of investigative journalism and public interest technology. She works for Bellingcat, an investigative nonprofit specialized in researching international conflicts, human rights violations, extremist movements and a wide range of other topics based on freely available online sources. 

She was a 2024 Nieman-Berkman Klein Fellow in Journalism Innovation with a focus on how open source research tools can be collaboratively built, maintained and made accessible to a diverse global researcher community. She is currently an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society where she leads the Open Source Research working group.
