Fred von Lohmann is a copyright lawyer and strategic adviser at OpenAI, where he previously served as Deputy General Counsel for Copyright.
Before joining OpenAI, he was the Legal Director for Copyright at Google, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a research fellow at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology, and an associate with the law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Fred received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Stanford University.
His Berkman interests focus on AI, copyright, and the interaction of new technologies and the law generally.
