Eileen Han is an assistant professor at the Center for Integrative Studies (Social Science), Michigan State University. Eileen received a Ph.D. in communication at Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. Before that, she studied at Chinese University of Hong Kong for a master’s in communication. Her research areas include digital culture, social activism, and collective memory in contemporary China. She has published a book about Weibo, the leading Chinese micro-blogging site. Her current project is a critical analysis of new cultural authorities in the digital age. She takes both ethnographic and discourse analysis approaches to her research.
