Announcing ILaw Eurasia 2004, December 13-17

The iLaw Eurasia Program is a five-day, intensive course designed to expose and introduce 50 advanced policy experts from countries in Eurasia to the critical and emerging information age policy and legal issues shaping the future of the region. The goal of the Program is to bring representatives from government, the private sector, and civil society together to explore best practice and policy dilemmas such as harmonizing national regulation with global norms, balancing commitment to civil rights and privacy while ensuring national security, and understanding the complexity of Internet filtering programs. Participants will come away from the Program with a greater awareness of issues in these areas and an opportunity to strengthen their links with other regional international experts. Please see the program's web page for more information and to apply.  Instructors include experts from the OpenNet Initiative, the Berkman Center's own Professor William Fisher (pictured), and Executive Director John Palfrey.
