Two BKC community members - Paola Ricaurte and Latanya Sweeney - were named to Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in AI. Ricaurte, a Faculty Associate, is recognized for her work on the Decolonial AI Manyfesto, and for her research and advocacy focusing on the ways that the AI industry exploits marginalized communities. Sweeney, a BKC alum, founded Harvard's Public Interest Tech Lab in 2021, and has since created tools like MyPrivacyPolls which enables whistleblowers to sound the alarm about unsafe or unjust data practices.
