Algorithmic fairness tools explored at MIT Policy Hackathon

A panel of judges from industry, academia, and government hear policy pitches addressing societal challenges at the 2019 MIT Policy Hackathon.

A team from the Berkman Klein Center’s Ethics and Governance of AI project tasked MIT Hackathon participants with developing a resource to help nontechnical policy advocates understand different definitions of "algorithmic fairness" — especially in the context of criminal justice risk-assessment tools.
