Matthew Blumberg

Matthew Blumberg is founder and executive director of GridRepublic, a nonprofit organization that uses volunteer computing to provide supercomputing resources to public interest research (recently in partnership with Intel as Progress Thru Processors).  Other works-in-progress include Charity Engine (commercial volunteer computing, with proceeds to charity), SXSW Action (a platform for computer games which use players' intellectual skills to solve problems that computers aren't good at), and consulting with DARPA's "Social Computing Seedling".

Previously, he produced the feature film Amongst Friends (a Sundance Film Festival Selection, distributed by Fine Line Features), and was Associate Producer of the computer game Evolution (Interplay). Matthew is a partner in TGT Energy Ltd., a company commercializing proprietary technology for industrial-scale energy storage, initially for applications in mass transit.
