Fred is Senior Counsel at Perkins Coie LLP, where his practice focuses on the legal and regulatory issues surrounding fintech and cryptocurrency matters.
He previously was the head of legal and compliance at a cross-border payments start-up in Nairobi, Kenya, a data breach response attorney at Hogan Lovells US LLP, and an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at the National Security Agency. Fred is a cynic, who believes that technological advances tend to increase the gaps between the haves and the have-nots, but he is also an optimist, who believes that the next technological advance doesn’t have to.
