David Herlihy

David Herlihy is a Full Teaching Professor at Northeastern University and the Coordinator of Northeastern’s Music Industry Program.

David teaches in the undergraduate Music Industry Program,  the Master of Science in Creative Practice Leadership Program, and Northeastern University School of Law, and he supervises Green Line Records, Northeastern University’s student-run record label.

Since 1993, David has maintained an intellectual property/new media/entertainment law practice in Newton, Massachusetts.

David is also a Billboard-charting songwriter, and an award-winning lead singer for O POSITIVE, a Boston-based musical group with full length albums on Epic Records and several independent record labels. He has shared stages with The Psychedelic Furs, Robyn Hitchcock, Hoo Doo Gurus, Bryan Ferry, Sinead O’Connor, Black Uhuru, Jimmy Cliff, The Pixies and (gasp), the Beach Boys, Eddie Money and Cher. David is still active in the recording studio and he occasionally performs live with the band Hey Dave.
