The Internet & Democracy project is looking for research interns for a study investigating the US political blogosphere and "astro-turfing." The goal of this investigation is to identify whether there is "astro-turfing" in the political blogosphere around the election, if both sides do it, and to the extent possible, who is doing it.
The project is looking for coders who will read suspected astroturf blogs and real political blogs and fill out a script/questionnaire indicating if they think they are real vs. fake. Research interns need to be English speakers, preferably with an interest in the Internet and politics, the upcoming elections, and civic engagement.
Pay will be $11.50 per hour, starting as soon as possible! The project requires your availability for the next two weeks, and possibly longer. If you are interested and/or if you have any questions, please contact Corinna di Gennaro at: cdigennaro@cyber.harvard.edu
More Internet & Democracy internship opportunities are available as well. And research opportunities with other Berkman projects can be perused on our Intern and Research Assistant Program page.
