Tracking Broadband Speed and Prices Across the US

BroadbandCensus.com, a new website dedicated to tracking broadband speeds and prices across the US, has just launched. Through an agreement with the Pew Internet & American Life Project, Broadband Census will help researchers understand the the state of internet services and access throughout the country.

From their website: "America has a need for better information about broadband. The country needs to know where high-speed Internet service is available and where it isn't. And that is just the first step. Next, consumers need to know the extent of broadband competition in their local area. They need to know the names of the carriers that offer broadband, the speeds they offer, and the prices they charge. BroadbandCensus.com intends to fill this gap."

This project is lead by Drew Clark, a previous Berkman Center Tuesday Luncheon Series guest and fellow at the Center for Public Integrity. You can learn about what he talked about here, or check out the video of his presentation at MediaBerkman.
