Internet & Democracy Blog Gets Rolling

The recently announced Internet & Democracy project - launched earlier this year - has just posted to their project blog for the first time.

This inaugural post looks at the pressing and intriguing issue of "Myanmar's 'Dictator's Dilemma'?," a topic well suited for a project that seeks to understand how the Internet is used in a variety of political settings.

The crisis in Myanmar has drawn the attention of many of the Berkman Center's international projects including: Global Voices, which has devoted an entire page to cataloging the events through the perspective of local bloggers; and the OpenNet Initiative has kept a close watch on the government's reaction to Internet service, which proved to be quick and comprehensive.  Stay tuned to their blog for the latest and check out the country profile to see how much information is available to their citizens when the Internet is available.
