Wikimania 2007 brings Wikipedia fans to Taiwan

This past weekend in Taipei, Taiwan, fans of the online collaborative encyclopedia Wikipedia and its affiliated Wikimedia projects gathered together for the third annual Wikimania conference. This year's conference follows Wikimania 2006, which Berkman proudly hosted last August.

Wikimania 2007 featured papers, panels, and workshops with leaders in the Wikimedia and education communities, including keynotes by Berkman fellow and Wikimedia founder Jimmy Wales. The conference was preceded by a citizen media unconference, led by Berkman affiliate and new media professor Rebecca MacKinnon.

The conference also marked an auspicious milestone for Wikipedia, which recently reached two million articles. Congratulations to Wikipedia, and to the Wikimania 2007 team!
