State of Play V: Building the Global Metaverse

The Berkman Center is proud to sponsor and contribute to the fifth annual State of Play conference taking place this month, from August 19-22 in Singapore.

Titled Building the Global Metaverse, this latest gathering will "explore the transnational dimensions of the metaverse and the impact of virtual environments on education, law, politics, and society."

Berkman's own Charles Nesson, Gene Koo, and Catherine Bracy will be in attendance to facilitate two workshops on "Online Poker - Internet Freedom - Open Education" and "Educational Applications of Virtual Worlds."

Registration is still available on the State of Play website, where you can learn more about the scheduled events and also check the archives of conferences past to see how we have come to view the intersection of law, games, and virtual worlds. 

For those that can't make it to Singapore, not to worry; video of all of the segments will be posted online, in addition to a steady stream of live broadcasts.
