An International Perspective on an American Tragedy

Seldom is the American public given a glimpse of unedited foreign opinions on domestic events.  More commonly images of rage or love are seen in response to American policies in general, because they make the most compelling story.  This trait becomes especially prominent during times of national crisis and grieving, when this country looks more and more locally for the answers to very difficult questions.

This week the events on the campus of Virginia Tech sent shockwaves, not just across the United States, but globally as well.  Global Voices, an aggregator of blogs from around the world, has accrued a number of posts from various countries that provide insight and connections from rarely heard perspectives.
