March 30th Declared "Stop Cyberbullying Day"

In response to recent controversies and to raise awareness on the complicated issue of cyberbullying, Digital Divide Network founder Andy Carvin has declared today Stop Cyberbullying Day.

In addition to starting a Stop Cyberbullying social network to encourage conversation among educators, parents, and policymakers, the day, according to Carvin, seeks to "mobilize a global conversation about the various forms of online harassment and what we can do to combat them."

As Berkman Fellow David Weinberg emphasizes, cyberbullying is an important topic to explore and raise awareness around, but it should be emphasized that the Internet is not "all bullying all the time."

You can participate by posting a video podcast or a blog post, by tagging articles or resources with "stopcyberbullying," or by learning more about the issue by subscribing to the Stop Cyberbullying feed.  Join the social network to share resources and discuss the issue.  The Berkman Center's Digital Natives wiki also has an ever-growing list of resources about Digital Safety and Privacy.
