Center for Citizen Media Develops "Principles of Citizen Journalism"

A project by the Center for Citizen Media, for the Knight Foundation's Citizen News Network, has just provided a set of standards to guide citizen journalists in their quest to provide the best reporting possible.

According to the project, these principles "detail the bedrock foundations of journalism to help citizen reporters grasp the fundamentals of the craft in a networked age."  They specifically address the five central aspects of responsible journalism: accuracy, thoroughness, fairness, transparency, and independence.
