Blogging from the Hot Seats

Blogging over at Media SITREP, John Bracken has continued his tango with merits of the internet-meets-politics domain.

Today he highlights the blogging efforts - or the lack thereof - made by politicians in Massachusetts, China, Nigeria and Illinois' Cook County.  Mr. Bracken has in the past noted that his perspective (one that questions the digital influence) has been shaped by his hometown of Chicago's relative lack of netroot involvement; pointing to one local blog, he suggests that a more vibrant network of local politicians would provide good reading.

As for the blogs in the other locales, Mr. Bracken notes that Berkman Executive Director John Palfrey exemplifies and Berkman Fellow David Weinberger questions Deval Patrick's site, Global Voices questions Chinese leader blogging motivations, and Berkman Fellow Ethan Zuckerman is interested in the efforts made by Nigeria's Donald Duke.
