Protect the Net Toronto - December 1

OpenNet Initiative collaborators at The Munk Center for International Studies at the University of Toronto are home to the first stop on the worldwide campaign to Protect the Net.  Protect the Net Toronto will take place on the University's campus on December 1, and it will explore issues surrounding internet censorship, free expression and the possibilities for a world in which the content on the web remains open and unfettered.  Three of the OpenNet Initiative Principal Investigators, The Berkman Center's Executive Director John Palfrey, The Munk Center’s Citizen Lab Director Ron Deibert and The University of Cambridge's Advanced Network Research Group Director Rafal Rohozinski will be presenting at the event.

As well, psiphon, the censhorship circumvention tool that’s been in development at The Citizen Lab, will make its public release with a demonstration of its abilities at Protect The Net Toronto.

Registration information is available at the Protect the Net site.
