Election 2006 Liveblogging at Berkman

V-day is here – we’ve made it to Election Day 2006, and we at Berkman hope you take the time today to cast your votes.

As the votes from national and Massachusetts based races are tallied and counted, and as stories from precinct polling centers come in, bloggers from across the political spectrum will be joining us at The Berkman Center today to live-blog it all.  You’ve read the blogs to help shape your opinions, you’ve followed up with them to learn more about your candidates of choice and you’ve watched them break triumphs, disgraces and coverups.  Now keep an eye on them today as they work to bring you the latest on election day happenings.  Check out what local bloggers are saying about today’s event here, and join us if you’re interested in blogging and chatting with them and with us as today rolls on.

Like the changes that previous technologies have impacted upon politics, it’s no secret that the internet has affected the ways politicians, citizens and administrations function during election time.  We looked at this issue during the Internet & Society 2004 Conference: Votes, Bits and Bytes, and it hasn’t escaped others to give it a study as well.
