Oxford Internet Institute's Summer Doctoral Programme

If you're interested in furthering your study of the Internet and its implications for society, consider the Oxford Internet Institute's Summer Doctoral Programme (SDP).

The 2006 Summer Doctoral Programme is underway, having started July 17 and ending July 28, and with talented PhD students from more than 15 countries in attendance.

This is the fourth year of the SDP in which the Berkman Center has collaborated with the Oxford Internet Institute.  Yesterday Berkman's Prof. John Palfrey (Executive Director and Clinical Professor of Law at Harvard) led a session discussing Prof. Jonathan Zittrain's theory of generativity.  OII and SDP student Nick live-blogged the session and Berkman faculty fellow Urs Gasser has his take here.

Next week Berkman fellow Ethan Zuckerman will conduct a virtual seminar on the role of citizen media and Global Voices.

If you're interested in participating in OII's Summer Doctoral Programme, check out the program details and application here.
