"Knowledge, Power, and Invention" Symposium

This year's annual JOLT symposium is "Knowledge, Power, and Invention: Staying competitive in the global marketplace and the role of IP reform."

What does it take to stay competitive in the global marketplace? As America’s technological edge is challenged by a growing number of nations, there is an increasing effort to launch a new agenda to keep America competitive. It’s been deemed America’s “Innovation Agenda” and has spurred legislative action in the House and the Senate. As the legislature works to maintain America’s competitive edge in the global marketplace, this is also a crucial vantage point to evaluate the existing Intellectual Property laws that protect America’s innovations and encourage technical education. What are the impacts of these laws on corporations, inventors, consumers, and students? Is it time for reform?
